Mexico is the world’s hub of container glassmaking. The Central American country’s glassmaking sector is thriving thanks to its rich cultural heritage, strategic location and accessible international policies.

 

The country is famous for its diverse beers and spirits, the majority of which are packaged in glass. As a result its glass packaging industry is fl ourishing.

 

Mexico is home to an array of domestic manufacturers as well as global organisations such as O-I and Heineken. The world’s largest container glass plant is located in Mexico in Piedras Negras on the US Border.

 

Against this backdrop, Glassman is proud to return to Monterrey for the first time since 2008 for Glassman 2020.

Stunning embossing effects

 

RHONEA, a group of cooperative winemakers in the southern Rhone Valley, wanted to provide a new momentum  for their emblematic rose wine Belle Pomelle and after seeing the possibilities offered by O-I: EXPRESSIONS, their choice was quickly made. With the help of the O-I designers, the graphics of the bottle were boosted without compromising the essence of the original design. Thanks to O-I: EXPRESSIONS RELIEF, the lace pattern gained in detail and finesse, and acquired a haptic effect.

Dekron: the Krones subsidiary for digital decoration technology

 

Krones has taken over Till GmbH in its entirety. Under the name of Dekron, the group’s subsidiary is now synergising the entire technology portfolio for digital decoration technology.

After the jointly developed DecoType machine portfolio had been successfully, it was time to compress the knowledge and the technologies of both firms in a single responsively accomplished innovation-driven unit, operating under the name of Dekron.

The firm will continue to be at Till’s facility in Kelkheim and a second facility will be planned end of 2018 – close to Krones’ headquarters in Neutraubling.

Krones has also prioritised continuity in Dekron’s top management consisting now of Sven Kerpe, who was responsible for digital decoration technology at Krones and Friederike Kalusche, who had already occupied this post in Till GmbH, and had been involved in building up the company right from the start.
